We were founded in 1981 by a group of technicians who believed that there was a better way to do things. This diverse group covered a wide range of experiences in both the photographic and audio/visual disciplines. For the past 20 years we have served the ever-changing needs of both professionals and amateurs alike.
At Island Camera, we believe that your equipment is as important to you as a hammer might be to a carpenter—both are tools. You may use it for profit or pleasure, but you want it to work for you every time. When it doesn't, you want it to be fixed with the highest degree of expertise and as quickly as possible. This is what has kept our loyal customers coming back to us time and again. We treat each piece of equipment as if we ourselves would be using it. That is to say that it must perform properly at all times.
We have seasoned, factory-trained technicians who are familiar with all the popular brands including Canon, Konica, Minolta, Mamiya, Nikon, Olympus, Pentax, and Ricoh, as well as many other makes. We service both 35mm and medium format equipment. You will find our years of experience particularly valuable, as your equipment gets older. If you have a problem with your audio/visual equipment, we can help you there, too. We are experts in Bell & Howell and Kodak projectors, both motion picture and slide. We also service specialty equipment such as ID and passport cameras.
